Magazine-style portraits can look intimidating, but most editorial portrait lighting starts with a single, well-placed source. I usually build from one key light, shape it with a softbox or a bare reflector for edge, then add fill only when the mood needs it. The secret is not more lights, it is controlling the light you have, watching the shadows, and letting your subject carry the frame.
