Portraits – I always ask permission to take portraits. Even if I don’t speak their language you can always communicate one way or another like pointing to the camera and then pointing towards the person. If you’re polite and friendly they usually accept. If language is not a problem then I spend time talking to the person explaining who I am, where I’m from and what I will ultimately do with the image. I always offer to send a digital copy if they are willing to give me an email address.
