Achillies Last Stand

A great black and white conversion is a craft, not a single button. Removing colour is just the start: the real work is shaping contrast, balancing tones and letting texture and light carry the image. I look for frames with strong shapes and clear emotion, because mono strips away the distraction of colour and leaves only structure and feeling. Done well, monochrome can make an ordinary scene unforgettable.

Supper’s Ready

Restaurant photography is about capturing a whole experience, not just a plate of food. Hungry diners are won over by atmosphere, so I shoot the warm interiors, the busy kitchen and the people as much as the dishes themselves. Natural light keeps food looking honest and appetising.
